"American As Cherry Pie: The Life Of H. Rap Brown: is about the life of Imam Jamil Al-Amin (formerly known as H. Rap Brown).

The documentary will give a descriptive detail about Imam Al-Amin's life from his childhood in Baton Rouge, LA, to his chairman position with the SNCC (Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee), and to his 2002 murder conviction of allegedly murdering a Fulton County, Georgia, Sheriff Deputy.  The documentary will be narrated by various individuals that either had a personal or professional relationship with Al-Amin, I currently have interview commitments from individuals such as: Sister Karima Al-Amin (wife), Ed Brown (brother), John O'Neil (SNCC), Charles McDew (SNCC), Bobby Seale (cofounder of the Black Panther Party), Bob Mantz (SNCC), and the residents of Atlanta's West End community.

I am currently seeking investors and/or monetary donations to help finance the documentary project.  If you are interested in investing in the documentary and would like receive more information on the documentary, please email us at the link below and a copy of the business plan will be properly forwarded.  All forms of monetary donations may be sent through Paypal or to P.O. 2170, Atlanta, Georgia 30301-2170.  The documentary is aiming for an independent theatrical release in April 2006 in 11 targeted markets that has the highest numbers within the African-American population: Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Memphis, Philadelphia, New Orleans, and Washington, D.C.  The documentary will also be accompanied by an independent soundtrack release to target the younger generations to come and view the documentary.  The soundtrack will consist of independent and aspiring conscious Hip Hop and Soulful R&B artists to produce tracks about the current state of consciousness of the urban community, and to incorporate a modern sixties vibe to the soundtrack.  Mos Def, Jurassic 5, and Dilated Peoples held a benefit concert for Al-Amin in 2001, and I am trying to get in contact with them to see if they would be interested in also appearing on the soundtrack.  If you know an idea artist or you are an artist yourself, all demo submissions must be properly submitted by Saturday, August 7, 2004 for soundtrack consideration.

All other forms of donations such as services and equipment are graciously appreciated also.  All forms of donations will be accredited to the donor with onscreen credits.
